Scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology presented the so-called 4D printing technology. By fourth dimension, authors mean the ability of the object to change their form under external influence. As the latter, in this experiment is immersion in water. Energy for restructuring is obtained from the absorption of liquid with material. In the future, the technology can be used, for example, for the production of furniture in the IKEA style, where the package will be written: “Just add water”. In addition, the scientists also try other energy sources, such as heat, sound, and vibration.
