“Electronic leather” from Nokia (video)

Engineers from Nokia Research Center and Cambridge made the first prototypes of the so -called “electronic leather” (Electronic Skin) – printed circuit boards from flexible material, with a touchpad. The conductor was obtained by vacuum gold spraying. Such boards will be used to produce wearable electronics. The phone can, for example, be sewn in clothes or put on a brush like a rubber band. New material is similar to rubber and can stretch by 20% without damage to electronic components.
