89% of American students admitted that AI is already actively used to complete homework

Portal with online courses Study.COM interviewed 1000 students of American colleges and found out that they are already using AI in their studies. We are talking about the ChatGPT textual chat both, popular because of its availability. According to the survey, approximately 50 % of students on a regular basis instruct him to write an essay instead, and 48 % use it to pass tests in homework. Another 22 % admitted that they do not even take an article without the help of AI.

Study research technique.COM raised questions among experts, but the very fact of mass use by students of AI in study is no longer something amazing. Chat bots in a short time have become an integral part of the educational process, albeit unofficial. And the main problem lies in this: the community of US teachers has dispersed – to ban or still approve AI?

At first glance, it is logical that if AI does tasks instead of a student, the intellectual abilities of the latter will not develop, or even begin to degrade. On the other hand, humanity is steadily following the path of saturation of all spheres of its life by technologies that simplify the implementation of various tasks. Once and the calculator was considered unacceptable help in school calculations, and text editors in computers scolded that you can write with errors and correct them using built -in dictionaries.

It will not be possible to prohibit AI for objective reasons, especially since the students themselves do everything so that the results of the work of AI become indistinguishable from their own. But this is a huge plus, because in this way they help to develop artificial intelligence technologies in general. Therefore, a number of scientists recommends that they come to terms with the inevitable and develop new teaching methods that will allow students to develop their skills using AI.
