In China, they found a fantastically ancient figure of a bird from the Stone Age

Near the modern Beijing there is a place of Linjin, where during archaeological work they found a tiny bird figurine. Years later, research in scientific institutions of four countries managed to establish the age of crafts. It is 13.2-13.4 thousand. years that transfers us during the early Stone Age. Or for more than 8,000 years earlier than the new Stone Age, which belongs to the oldest famous Chinese artifact – a jade figure of a bird about 5 thousand. years.

One and a half years of research, it was necessary to prove – this is really the subject of the art of the ancestors of the Chinese nation, and it is really much older than all existing. In addition, disputes about the essence of the figurine were settled, initially the figure of only 12 mm in size, many took for a fragment. She was found in a heap of mud, away from the official place of excavations – the villagers dug a well and threw the land nearby. Just in case, archeology sifted her and found several skulls – and the figure.

It was possible to establish that the figurine is cut out of the bone from the limb of the animal, and the material for alternating hardness and durability burned. The product depicts a sparrow sitting on a nest, a well -known cultural symbol of the Neolithic in China. But the figure has an interesting feature – for an unknown reason, the master did not work out his legs, but immediately placed the bird on the pedestal. This can already be interpreted as a reference to the culture of people who live further west from China, which raises new questions to scientists.
