Xiaomi has announced a new energy transfer technology for gadgets and home appliances called Mi Air Charge Technology. It significantly expands the concept of “wireless environment”, as it allows you to connect devices at a distance of several meters. Physical obstacles are not a problem, plus you can simultaneously recharge up to five different energy consumers.
Air Charge is based on two principles. Firstly, the emitter and receiver send signals for positioning themselves in space so that the system receives clear coordinates for the formation of a narrowly focused beam. Secondly, the radiation of the millimeter range is used here, which transfers energy, and on the receiver it is converted into electricity using a rectifier.
The charger has an array of 144 separate phased antennas, which are used to form up to five radiation bundles aimed in any side. To obtain energy, you need to put a compact receiver on the smartphone battery, in which there is a lattice of 14 antennas and a separate beacon with low energy consumption for alarm in space.
The maximum capacity of such a charger is limited to 5 watts. Representatives of Xiaomi assure that it will be compatible with the widest spectrum of devices-speakers, lamps, smart watches, fitness braces, etc.D. However, the company is not ready to show the system in the current year, and so far they do not call the specific terms of the appearance of commercial products based on it.
