Sources familiar with Advanced Micro Devices told reporters that the company will present a new Radeon R9 graphic map 300 at the Computex exhibition in early June. Initially, the company intended to release one or two new items already in the first quarter of this year, but in January the plans have changed, and now they have gained the final form.
The two tasks that AMD are trying to solve in the first half of 2015 are almost mutually exclusive. On the one hand, AMD needs to sell the commodity-sailing of current products;with another – Stop falling sales and reducing market share. If AMD does not release anything new, then its income and share are reduced. However, the presentation of new products will stop sales of current solutions, graphic cards will remain in warehouses.

According to Asian sources, AMD initially planned to release at least one Radeon R9 series 300 at the CEBIT exhibition in early March. The latest AMD graphic solution should be based on the last GPU of the company and equipped with a memory of HBM. It is assumed that the novelty will replace the Radeon R9 series 290, showing the highest speed in modern games, as well as unprecedented productivity in super -high -eDliness resolutions: 4K (3840×2160, 4096×2160) or 5k (5120×2880).
Without a doubt, the launch of such graphic Radeon R9 adapters in the light of the scandal with the specifications of the GeForce GTX 970 would allow AMD to seriously strengthen the position by selecting the market share of Nvidia. At the same time, he would violate the sales of all other products of the Radeon R9 series, and therefore the company decided not to announce the new video cards of the highest price range this month. The specific reason why AMD prefers to postpone the withdrawal of new graphic processors to the market is unknown. It is logical to assume that the dynamics of sales Radeon R9 280 and 290 episodes is not high, which is expected for the first quarter.

Currently, the top management of AMD has set the company to release a completely new family of Radeon R9 300 graphic cards to the Computex exhibition in June. Instead of the release of one – two new models, AMD plans to present a whole family, consisting mainly of really new graphic solutions. However, this does not exclude the appearance of renamed graphic adapters in the new line shortly after the official launch.
Although the terms of the announcement of future AMD graphic cards are now more or less clear, it is still not clear how much truly new graphic processors are planned to be released in June this year. Judging by unofficial data, two completely new GPUs can expect us, as well as solutions based on the Tonga graphic chip. It should be understood that as soon as AMD approve the final characteristics of the flagship Radeon R9 series 300 and begin their mass production, the company’s plans for launch can be changed.

AMD does not comment on messages about the plans and schedule of launching new products. However, the company indirectly confirmed at the Morgan Stanley technological conference that its new graphic processors would be released by the end of the second quarter. Thus, their sales will financially affect the GPU developer only in the second half of the year. Apparently, AMD considers the second half of this year as the period of time when it will return the market to the lined NVIDIA.
