Surely you saw shots on which the famous four -legged robots from Boston Dynamics are successfully moving, overcome complex obstacles and transfer the load. Max’s enthusiast followed in the footsteps of the DARPA unit and developed a cheap and simple quadarobot assembly, which is very similar to his “adult” copy.
“For a long time I was amazed at the successes of the walking robots Boston Dynamics. Their robot scum, developing up to 26 km/h, was all over the past year. But for some reason it was believed that four-legged robots are not realistic to do with your own hands, for this you need a huge amount of money and skills. But is it?»—Max explains.
With the help of his knowledge in electronics and a sufficient limited set of details, Max managed to build a four -legged robot that is as similar as possible to one of the creations of Boston Dynamics. Here are a few videos of the “first steps” of Max’s robot:
The supporting structure is designed from scraps of five -mileytic acrylic glass. To attach all parts together, Max decided to use conventional threaded bolts and nuts. Miniature servo drives for $ 40 are responsible for the movement of the limbs, which are controlled by the Arduino Mega set. And as the eye of the robot, camcorders are installed in its “nasal” part.
