In early spring, the robot robber shot down a 49-year-old woman to death. The VOLVO crossover on the basis of the crossover did not make emergency braking, while the driver who was obliged to control the unmanned driving process, at the time of the collision, looked not at the road, but into the screen of the self -government system. And despite the fact that the deceased woman was moving with a bicycle in the wrong place, she was “under the high” and dressed in black clothes without reflectors (they were also absent on the two -rifle), Uber decided to turn off the testing of self -governing machines in Arizona.

Security Council investigation that all the equipment worked properly. The sensors found a “obstacle” for another 6 seconds before the collision: at first the system accepted a pedestrian for an unidentified object, then as a vehicle, after which – as a bicycle. But the Volvo emergency braking system was disconnected so as not to interfere with the work of the autopilot. A similar system from Uber was disabled due to fear of illogical behavior of the car on the road. As a result, the inhibition process was controlled by an exclusively insured driver who was distracted at the same seconds. It turns out, despite the declared self -government of the car, the process that needs the fastest response was entrusted to the person.
